To help families with pets facing financial hardship, Humane Animal Rescue is hosting a special dog food distribution event on Monday, November 16.
Ellie’s Thankful Paws food drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the North Side (1101 Western Avenue).
Pet owners can drive up and staff will load each vehicle with free food.
“Pets are an integral part of our families,” says Dan Rossi, CEO of Humane Animal Rescue. “Because of the financial difficulties resulting from the outbreak of COVID-19, Pittsburghers need Ellie’s more than ever. We want to make sure that no one has to make the difficult decision to give up their pet because they can’t provide basic care.”
Since the start of the pandemic, Ellie’s Food Pantry has fed 1,283 animals while distributing 24,775 pounds of food at regularly scheduled events and emergency distributions.
