Cleveland APL pets of the weekend: Jabba, Pam and Matilda

By haziqbinarif

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Animal Protective League is hoping to find homes for its smallest friends at the shelter, showcasing mice as the pets of the weekend.

The mice featured are named Jabba, Pam and Matilda, but the shelter said there are many others available for adoption as well.

Cleveland APL said that the mice are all young and in their peak socialization stages, which means the more they are handled the more they will bond with the person who adopts them.

Mice don’t require a lot of space, are quiet and very intelligent, making them great, simple pets, the shelter said.

With the holidays approaching, Cleveland APL said that watching a mouse nibble on its food, sniff with its cute little nose or scurry on its wheel “can warm even the coldest Grinch-like heart.”

Mouse adoption fees are $5 and since most of the mice have lived together they could go home in pairs, or. trips, of the same gender, Cleveland APL said.
