Jim Bridger Plant Employees Raise Over $12K to Help Homeless Pets
ROCK SPRINGS — This week Jim Bridger Plant employees shared some holiday cheer with the Red Desert Humane Society to assist efforts in caring for and finding homes for furry friends.
Plant employees, which include members of Local 127 Utility Workers of America, raised $12,940 for the organization, which included matching funds from Rocky Mountain Power, as part of the company’s yearly Community Giving Campaign.
“Bridger employees voted to collectively support the Red Desert Humane Society because we recognize the great work that they do,” said Rick Tripp, Jim Bridger Plant managing director. “Our employees are known to be compassionate — many of us have adopted animals from there. So when the opportunity for matching funds from the company was made available, they knew how big of a difference they could make.”

“The Red Desert Humane Society appreciates the extraordinary donation from the Jim Bridger Plant employees,” Red Desert Humane Society Manager Heidi Hernandez said. “We feel very grateful that we were chosen. The donation will be used to help care for our animals in so many ways, including food, cat litter, blankets, toys, and cleaning supplies.”
“This year has brought some extraordinary challenges for many of these great community-serving organizations,” Tripp said. “As a partner and member of this community we were glad for the opportunity to pull together and help out.”
