Popular Pedigree dog food product sold in Ireland recalled due to risk of illness to dogs

By haziqbinarif

Mars Multisales Ireland has recalled a limited number of a popular Pedigree dog food product sold in the country.

The affected batches may pose as a health risk to dogs and cause illness.

A number of “Pedigree Complete Small Dog Beef 1.4kg” could make a dog unwell due to its levels of Vitamin D.

Anyone who has already purchased this for their dog is being asked to immediately stop feeding it to their pet. Consumers are asked to contact Mars Multisales Ireland’s consumer care service for more information.

Products included in the recall will have a “lot code” printed on the bag that begins with 046D9. The “best before” date is November 12th 2021 (12/11/2021).

Mars Multisales Ireland confirmed products with this lot code and best before date are the only ones impacted by the recall.

The company is also working with all distributors and retailers to ensure that the recalled products are no longer sold in stores and are removed from inventory.

In a statement, the company said: “At Mars Petcare, we take our responsibility to pets and their owners very seriously. We care deeply about pets and would like to sincerely apologise for any concern caused.”
