A dog owner has been left devastated after thieves scooped up her pet and ran off with it while she was out in a park.

The Glaswegian animal lover is heartbroken after two thugs grabbed her pooch while she was near Kevlingrove Park in the rustic Scottish city.

The woman, named Jennifer, took to social media in the early hours of Saturday to share her anguish and her story as she recounted the dognapping incident.

She reported that the animal had been taken on Friday night and urged followers and animal lovers to spread the word in the hope of being reunited with her dog – named Chop.

The criminals struck when Chop was off his lead and chasing after a squirrel.

Writing on Facebook, the distressed animal owner wrote: “My dog Chop was stolen tonight at Kelvinbridge.

“One man with black bomber jacket and one woman with grey tracksuit bottoms and a black bomber jacket.

“He didn’t have his lead or jacket on as he was jumping in the car and seen a squirrel when they grabbed him.

“Spread this round everywhere, but especially the North of Glasgow as they were heard and saying walking in the direction of Maryhill.

“4 number reward on any information of who they are or where he is.

“Please share this everywhere, this boy is like my baby and I don’t know what I will do without him.”

Jennifer’s post reached thousands of concerned people online – who have vowed to help her find her pet.

However, despite some sharing hopes that they witnessed the pooch in question, the heartbroken owner gave an update later on Saturday to say she had found only dead ends so far.

Sharing a string of other photos of her dog, she wrote: “Another day no word, thank you for all your help. Everyone who had a nice word, a bit of information or for just caring. It means a lot.”

She added: “Thank you keep praying my boy gets home.”
