If there’s any good news to come from the pandemic, it’s that animal adoptions have increased nationwide as homebound families take in new pets. But as always, more animals still wait.
Janie, a ginger and white shorthair, found refuge in the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter’s safe surroundings for 4 months or so. Other shelter animals have waited far longer than that, but Janie serves as the latest example of a rescued fuzzy friend well taken care of until its forever family finally stepped forward.
The top photo provided by the shelter shows Janie with her new “parents” Monday. “We are so happy for her!” stated a message on the La Porte County Small Animal Shelter Facebook page.
