Pets at Home joins UK retailers in giving back COVID-19 tax relief
Dec 4 (Reuters) – Pets at Home became the latest British retailer to hand back the tax relief it received from the government during the coronavirus crisis, as the pet supplies company said on Friday it would repay the entire 28.9 million pounds.
The move follows in the footsteps of major companies including Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons . As of Thursday, the total repayment proposed by retailers on the so-called business rate reliefs stood at 1.8 billion pounds. (Reporting by Jasmine I S and Muvija M in Bengaluru)
